Cloud Engineer (AWS)
Build landing zones and migrate workloads, with cost and security designed in rather than bolted on.
The role
You will build the foundations client workloads land on, and run the migrations onto them. We care a lot about the day-two picture – tagging, cost ownership and guardrails – because that is where cloud programmes usually come unstuck.
What you will do
- Build landing zones: account structure, networking, identity, security baseline and monitoring
- Migrate workloads in waves, with rightsizing, validation and documented rollback
- Implement infrastructure as code and the pipelines that apply it
- Own cost engineering – rightsizing, commitments, storage lifecycle, tagging discipline
What we are looking for
- Three or more years hands-on with AWS in production
- Terraform or CloudFormation to a professional standard
- Real networking and IAM knowledge, not just console familiarity
- Comfortable being on a client call explaining why the bill looks like it does
Nice to have
- AWS certification at Associate level or above
- Containers and orchestration
- Azure or Oracle Cloud exposure
